Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton: The modest couple back in the day

Long before Brangelina took the world by storm, there was power couple Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton..remember them together?

They were Hollywood’s wild, kooky, sexy couple who, just after a couple months of dating, got married in May of 2000. They were married for three years before divorcing in 2003.

To this day, Thornton, 56, insists he is still on friendly terms with his ex Jolie, 36, and apparently they are, because she has written the foreword to his new memoir, The Billy Bob Tapes: A Cave Full of Ghosts.

The tell-all book was co-written with country music singer and author Kinky Friedman, and promises to deliver “colorful tales of his modest (to say the least) Southern upbringing, his bizarre phobias (komodo dragons?), his life, his loves (including his heartbreakingly brief marriage to fellow Oscar winner Angelina Jolie), and, of course, his movie career.”

I am SO ready to read this memoir! Biographies are my favorite genre of book, plus I loved Thornton and Jolie as a couple. They had such a sexual chemistry and were just fun, blood vial-wearing wierdos. It was definitely my favorite era of Miss Jolie. I liked her slightly gothic, rebel persona, so I can’t wait to see her contribution to the book, as well as what Thornton has to say about their relationship. Hopefully we’ll get some juicy stories out of this one.
