Katheryne Fuller Pleads Guilty in Uganda

Fuller before the cocaine poisoning

Katheryne Fuller, the assistant of Jeff Rice, an Amazing Race producer, plead guilty to drug charges in Uganda after she and Rice were poisoned by contaminated cocaine.

Hotel employees found the bodies of Rice and Fuller at the Serena Hotel unconscious on their balcony. Rice was dead and bleeding from the mouth and nose. Fuller went into a coma and when she awoke was paralyzed on her right side. The pair supposedly bought the contaminated drugs from a local taxi driver who has since been arrested.

An investigation turned up cocaine and heroin in the hotel room with no signs of foul play. Large quantities of cocaine were found in the stomachs of both Fuller and Rice, originally leading some to believe that the two may had been involved in smuggling drugs. It appears that was not the case, but regardless, Katheryne Fuller still faced drug charges once she was released from the hospital. After pleading guilty she was sentenced to six months in prison or a $420 (yes really) fine. You can guess which route she chose.
