Whitney Houston autopsy reports show drugs in her system
According to the L.A. County Coroner (via TMZ), Whitney Houston’s official cause of death is accidental drowning, but heart disease and cocaine use also contributed to the singer’s demise. Traces of marijuana, Xanax, Flexeril, and Benadryl were also found in her blood.
People connected to the investigation are suggesting that Houston might have actually had a heart attack that caused her to pass out in the water and drown. The coroner, speaking live, said that he believed if it weren’t for Houston’s past cocaine use and hardening of the arteries, she probably wouldn’t have had a heart attack.
Upon hearing about the results, Houston’s family released a statement saying, “We are saddened to learn of the toxicology results, although we are glad to now have closure.”
I get that Houston’s past drug use definitely could have triggered a heart attack, but find it hard to believe that anyone taking that many drugs at one time wouldn’t have also had the same outcome. That’s a lot of pharmaceuticals to be mixing!
So, so sad. RIP Whitney.
