‘Dumb And Dumber 2’ In The Works

Dumb and Dumber 2 will start shooting in September

There’s a handful of movies that my friends and I could recite in its entirety without any help just for the sheer fact we’ve seen them each 100 times, and Dumb and Dumber is one of them.

It’s hard to believe the original was released 18 whole years ago. It’s mind-boggling really. Like almost no time has passed though, I am so excited to hear that the Farrelly brothers have confirmed their plans to shoot a real follow-up to the 1994 hit, starring the original funnymen Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels as Harry and Lloyd.

Peter Farrelly told ComingSoon.net (via E!),”We’re getting set to shoot Dumb and Dumber 2 in September,” adding, “It’s the first sequel we’ve ever done and we’ve got Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels back.”

Farrelly said that there is indeed a script in the works from Sean Anders and John Morris (who worked on Hot Tub Time Machine and Mr. Popper’s Penguins), and promised that it will be far different then 2003’s Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd. That film ended up having horrible reviews, but then again, the director brothers weren’t involved nor were Carrey and Daniels.

I cannot wait for this! If the writing is done well, I have faith Carrey and Daniels will bring it. The Farrelly brothers have a wonderful track record as well, so I think this will be a winner.
