93 Octane: Rocking Seattle Band!

93 Octane, a true Seattle rock and roll band 

As you all know, I am a sucker for live music and I don’t care where I’m at, if there’s a kick ass band around I’ll sniff them out.

Recently I came across a totally rocking Seattle band that I was lucky enough to catch play at a local bar. We walked in just as they were setting up and their sound check perked my interest as immediately the lead singer Shel Van Taylor (c’mon, is that a rockstar name or what?) had a strong alpha-dog presence. He reminded me a bit of Scott Weiland (when he wasn’t smacked out) with his intensity and the tidbits the band was playing sounded right up my alley. Rock and roll, baby. I’m IN.

93 Octane played originals and strong covers. I was impressed with their sound and sang along to the songs I knew. I’m sure the cocktails helped a bit as well, but that’s besides the point. Heh. I just happened to be standing right by Shel’s wife who was a doll by the way, and later briefly met Shel. Anyhow I told them I’d share the band with you, since…well…simply put, they ROCK. Make sure to look them up while in the area!
