Lindsay Lohan Set To Play Elizabeth Taylor

Lindsay Lohan and Elizabeth Taylor: Do you see it?

We heard a while back that Hollywood train wreck Lindsay Lohan might be up for the much coveted role of the late and great Elizabeth Taylor for a Lifetime movie called Liz and Dick, but nobody ever thought that would come to fruition, but now we’ve learned it has.

There’s been months of speculation on who would play the legendary violet-eyed beauty; apparently Lohan had been considered for quite some time, along with Megan Fox, but ultimately, it has gone to Lohan.

Lohan definitely had her share of people doubting whether she could play the role, or even show up to the set at all, without her usual drama, but not the movie’s executive producer Larry Thompson. He told E! that he thinks she is “perfect” for the part, saying, “We have wanted Lindsay from day one. She had a lot in her life that was going on. We needed to give her time to take care of her business, and while we negotiated the deal for her we prayed for her—and wonderfully she has behaved. She’s cleared herself and we’re ready to start this movie.”

Is he talking about the Lindsay Lohan that just got accused of battery at a nightclub recently? Because that sounds like the old Lilo that is addicted to trouble (and many other things). Sure she hasn’t been arrested in the last few months, but give it time people!

Thompson continues, “We truly feel that Lindsay Lohan is perfect for Elizabeth Taylor for our movie….I think Lindsay—who is very gifted—deserved another chance. We never, of three pages of ‘what if’s’ in the negotiation, there never was ‘what if she can’t act.’ We know she can act.”

“We could hire actresses that would be great and people would watch it, but I think that Lindsay brings to Elizabeth Taylor and to our project that sparkle of magic, that sparkle of today,”

“She is today what Elizabeth Taylor was in her life during the time that our movie will cover. I think, while there are a lot of people who know Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, Lindsay will bring a young audience to our movie who might not otherwise know who they are.”

Well I agree with him on the fact that Lohan can act. I don’t think anybody doubts her natural-born skill in the acting department. She has the talent, and I think we can all agree we want to see her succeed, but when somebody’s given so many chances and keeps making stupid decisions with their lives, it’s hard to keep holding on to the faith. I’ll say it again, hopefully this will turn Lohan’s career back in her favor. We’ll see.
