Tupac Hologram Takes Over The Music World

Holograms have been around for over 50 years, or at least the theory has, but 2012’s Coachella experience with Tupac’s hologram performing in concert has taken the music and technology industries by storm.

Ever since Tupac was digitally resurrected at the music festival less than two weeks ago, everybody has been going bonkers with ideas about whom we could bring back to life from the musical grave…especially the people behind the holographic technology. Hopefully they’re not only seeing dollar signs…

The head honchos behind the technology at Musion Technology Ltd. admit they have a lot of former-livin’ stars in their sights. Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houstonyou name it!

The Head of Music at Musion, Sanj Surati, tells NME that seeing Elvis onstage with Justin Bieber “would be a cool thing.”  He adds, “Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, oh and Michael Jackson would be the ultimate one. Maybe even Whitney Houston.”

Apparently Dr. Dre said the Tupac hologram was “strictly for Coachella”, but Surati argues that it would “make sense” to take Tupac (or his hologram) on tour.

Whoa…where does it end? Sure, this hologram phenomenon is life-changing to music-lovers and concertgoers all around, but good lawd! Just like the 3-D trend, let’s not burn it out before we can make use out of it.
