

Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees has died at the age of 62 after losing his battle with cancer.
Gibb’s publicist read a statement written by the family on Sunday. ”Robin passed away today following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery. The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time.”
Best known for their 1977 smash hit soundtrack album, Saturday Night Fever, the Bee Gees cemented their place in music history with hits like, “Stayin’ Alive”, and “More Than a Woman”. The name the “Bee Gees” is short for “Brothers Gibb”.
Gibb is survived by his wife, Dwina, four children, brother Barry Gibb, and his sister Lesley Evans. He is proceded in death by his brothers Andy, who died in 1988, and Maurice who died in 2003.
