Elton John Hospitalized For Severe Respiratory Infection

Elton John was hospitalized Wednesday for what appears to be a serious respiratory infection.

The Rocket Man acquired the illness last weekend but it only worsened. He was taken in yesterday to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, and after several tests, doctors recommended he cancel several upcoming shows so he can rest and undergo treatment for it. So far John canceled three performances scheduled from Thursday to Sunday in Las Vegas.

In a statement the entertainer said, “It feels strange not to be able to perform these ‘Million Dollar Piano’ concerts at The Colosseum. I love performing this show and I will be thrilled when we return to The Colosseum in October to complete the eleven concerts soon to be scheduled. All I can say to the fans is sorry I can’t be with you. I hope to see you soon at this wonderful theatre at Caesars Palace.”

Ticketholders can either exchange or refund their tickets.
