Guns N’ Roses Shows Up Late To Concert, Anger Fans

It’s nice to see Guns N’ Roses still has it.

Sure, they can still rock your pants off, but they might do it three hours later than promised.

The rockers performed Monday night at Manchester’s Arena and were supposed to be on stage at 10 p.m. (GMT) and finish by 11, instead, they didn’t start their set until 11:15. Oops.

Nonetheless, they played a 33-song show, and finished three hours later, somewhere around 2:15 a.m. Although many fans still remained (somewhere around 6,000), the venue was at about 10,000 less than the arena’s capacity. Several angry ticketholders took to social media to vent. Alison Parker tweeted, “I’m angry. Guns N’ Roses? No Goons and Losers. Had to leave for last train before they even graced us with their presence. Disgusted.” Apparently, another ticked off fan hurled a pint of beer at singer Axl Rose during the concert while they were playing “Welcome To The Jungle”.

Speaking nothing of the incident, or muttering an apology the band took to their Twitter to say, “A tip of the hat to the good folk at the Manchester Arena. To say Manchester rocks is an understatement! London calling!”

I feel lucky I’ve only experienced a band being late once, and because of who it was (Bauhaus – ah Peter Murphy) and how long I waited to see them (ever since I was a youngin’ goth in high school), I accepted it. But I wasn’t happy. Why are bands late?! What the hell makes you late to your own gig, other than transportation? With GNR, they make enough money to fly privately, so really there’s no excuse. At least they played a long set!

You know it’s Axl…he needs to be dropped on his ass because for some reason he feels like he can do whatever he wants and get away with it.
