Cameron Diaz Writing Nutrition Book For Teen Girls

Cameron Diaz writing nutrition book for teen girls 2012

Looking at Hollyweird from the outside, it looks like Cameron Diaz is probably one of the healthiest actresses around. She’s fit, is super adventurous and seems to like working out (but not so much that she appears manly), and doesn’t appear malnourished or doped up on drugs. Yet even she is human and has to deal with the pressures of the movie industry and the standards it puts on women (and men) and their appearances.

From these experiences the 39-year-old beauty has decided to write her first book, which will be focused on the importance of nutrition and will be aimed at young, impressionable girls.

A publishing source told E!, “She wants to stop their fixation on being thin, and for teenage girls to understand that being healthy is more important. She wants to use her celebrity to make a difference. She knows she is a role model to girls and she really wants to use that position to do good.”

The source goes on to say that the book is not about weight, but rather “making the right choices.” Although no formal publishing deal is in place just yet, Diaz has signed on with a literary agent.

Regarding what this tome will require of Ms. Diaz, this ‘source’ says, “Cameron is going to be visiting high schools around the country to talk to teenagers about their food choices and what is important to them.  She wants them to know that being thin should not be their priority, it’s about getting the right vitamins and knowing what foods will give them energy and keep them strong. She wants to get their feedback, learn about how they decide what to eat now, and teach them to make more informed choices.”

The insider claims that Diaz is not making this book all about her, and it definitely is not a ‘diet book’ per se, but her goal is to make it appeal to everyone. The work will also include input from top nutritionists, along with some of her famous gal pals like Drew Barrymore, Gwyneth Paltrow, and J.Lo.

If or when this project comes to fruition, like her buddy Paltrow, it’s rumored that Diaz will also launch an accompanying website to help educate females in their search for health-related advice. But…that’s not all.

Says the source, “Through this project, she wants schools to offer better meal options for kids. She wants to have an impact on a huge scale. In some way, she feels like this is her calling. This is her passion.”

You go Cam! I like where this is going.
