David Arquette, Courteney Cox: Divorce is Official

Sadly David Arquette has filed for divorce from his estranged wife Courteney Cox on what would have been the couple’s 13th wedding anniversary.

Ouchie.

The divorce papers were actually signed on March 3, 2012, but apparently David wanted to wait until the big unlucky 13 anniversary to file them. Sounds to me like it’s a stab at Courteney. Why else would someone do that, unless there is some bad blood somewhere?

The news of David and Courteney’s divorce bums me out, I always loved them as a couple. They were opposites but seemed truly in love and willing to look past their differences. But as some say, the things that attract you to your partner in the beginning are the things that end up annoying the shit out of you years later. Maybe that’s what happened.

It seems like David’s boozing and cheating may have wrecked this once iron strong marriage, but I do believe he was sorry for being an idiot and he seemed willing to wait as long as it took for Courteney to forgive him. But no such luck. Time for David to move on – but not before hitting Courteney where it hurts.

David is asking for joint custody of Coco, 8, and is not asking for spousal support, nor is he being represented by an attorney.

Well, I suppose we can hope that these two might rekindle their romance some years down the road, perhaps. I just can’t seem to believe that they weren’t made for one another.
