Alex Trebek Suffers Heart Attack

Jeopardy's Alex Trebek has heart attack in 2012

Jeopardy game show host Alex Trebek suffered a mild heart attack Saturday and was admitted to Cedars-Sinai hospital for treatment.

Trebek, 71, is said to be recuperating nicely and is under the observation of his doctors. This is his second heart attack. Back in late 2007 he had a heart attack which required surgery. He bounced back and returned to Jeopardy in only a few short weeks.

Sony Pictures Television released the following statement regarding Trebek’s heart attack:

“Trebek is in good spirits and is currently under observation and undergoing further testing. He is expected to fully recover and be back at Jeopardy! when production begins taping in July for the new season, the show’s 29th.”

Alex may be getting up there in age, but his Jeopardy contract has been extended until 2014 and he shows no signs of slowing down. We wish him the best during his recovery.
