Danny Bonaduce is Alright with Me.

I have long been a fan of Danny Bonaduce‘s and as I have told you all many times before he reminds me of my late father. Yeah, dad was a little crazy and a definitely reckless at times in his life, but he had a heart of gold.

I’ve always seen the good in Danny and the thing I love about him is that he’s a survivor. So when I randomly ran into him at the Burbank Airport on my way home to Seattle I was just a little giddy.

He was sitting near me at the gate and I didn’t even notice him at first. What I did notice was his cool leather jacket draped over his luggage. It caught my eye because it had a patch of my favorite Seattle radio stations on it. KZOK 102.5 FM across the back. Then I looked at him and saw his profile and thought, “That guy looks like Danny Bonaduce..” I studied him further. I saw his wife Amy sitting next to him and then I knew instantly my instincts had been right. Wow, this is pretty cool, I thought. I have to say hello, this is likely the only time I’ll get a chance. Right?

Danny and Amy were reading magazines and I approached carefully, you never want to come bombing in. I told him I have been a fan of his for ages and that I followed his boxing career from a few years back. (Danny vs. Bob Levy - Danny Bonaduce vs. Jose Canseco) I told him reminded me of my dad (not age-wise, he’s only 12 years up on me), and that dad was a boxer. I asked him if it would be rude to get a photo. He smiled and was like, No, absolutely!

Cool. Danny Bonaduce is cool.

So to find out, Danny moved to Seattle 5 months ago, to the Queen Anne area, a trendy, beautiful part of Seattle. He’s doing radio on KZOK in the mornings, and somehow I didn’t know this. Where have I been?!

You can check his show out here, streaming online from 5:45 AM to 9:00 AM no matter what city you’re in. He’s always a kick to listen to, whether you agree with him or not. I mean, the guy is NOT boring. Heh.
