Andy Dick Back in Rehab After Intervention

Andy Dick just cannot seem to get his shit together.

The obnoxious funnyman has been in and out of rehab more than 10 times, he’s been accused of sexual misconduct, he’s been arrested numerous times and if you ask Jon Lovitz, he even had a hand in the death of Phil Hartman.

After appearing on Dr. Drew’s Celebrity Rehab (sadly we know how effective that experiment was) and Sober House, Andy seemed like he was on the path to a sober life. In January the comedian claimed to have been sober for nine months.

In 2012 Andy has been working on a web series, Andy Dick Live!, but the cast and crew have been tiring of his heavy drug use. You can pretty much guess it’s cocaine that is the problem – that’s Andy’s drug of choice, it’s no secret.

On a recent episode, Andy Dick’s boss Alki David, reportedly spoke with him about his problem, saying if he didn’t clean up, his show would have to end. Obviously Andy didn’t take his advice and friends and crew staged an intervention for him on Tuesday. Shortly after, Andy checked himself into the Oasis Treatment Center.

Now, I am going to be honest with you. I cannot STAND Andy Dick when he is all coked out, and it’s quite apparent when he is. He’s rude, arrogant and repulsive. But when he is sober, he seems like a very genuine, lonely, sad man. Did you watch him on Celebrity Rehab? He has a great son, and could have an amazing life. Instead he becomes a monster when he is snorting up the blow in Scarface quantities.

There’s two ways this will end up. It’s pretty black and white. I hope he takes the right path, for the sake of his son, if anything. There’s a lot going on with Andy, and it is going to take a lot of time and commitment on his part to come through this. Maybe 10th time is a charm?
