Ann Curry Disses Matt Lauer With Her ‘Today’ Show Goodbye

Ann Curry Disses Matt Lauer

After just a year as co-host, Ann Curry said her ‘goodbyes’ Thursday morning on the Today show.

Saying her farewell to the audience, Curry said with a great deal of emotion, “Every time I wake up I will be missing you. For all of you who saw me as a groundbreaker, I’m sorry I couldn’t carry the ball to the finish line, but man, I did try.”

Curry, whom many speculate was pretty much pushed out by co-anchor Matt Lauer and his disdain for her, listened to her fellow colleagues talk about how they’ll miss her and how they’ve loved working with her. Al Roker, Natalie Morales, and Lauer took turns doing this.

TMZ has a video of Lauer doing his best to appear upset about the departure. In it, he says to Curry (which, by the way, barely looks at him while he’s talking to her), “Can we just say it’s not goodbye, not by a long shot. We’re going to continue to put you on planes, and maybe ask you to jump out of one or two in the near future. You’ll be with us at the Olympics, which we’re looking forward to. Most importantly, you’ve made us better, and we thank you from the bottom of our heart.” He then awkwardly kisses her on the side of the head. Curry immediately gives buddy Roker a heartfelt hug, followed by one to Morales, whom she calls a “sister”, followed by nada to Lauer. Diss!
