Christie Brinkley, Peter Cook Finally Reach Custody Agreement

For Christie Brinkley and her ex-husband Peter Cook, it’s been six grueling years of fighting in court over who will get custody of their two children, but we’ve learned the fight (not the hatred) might be over with…for now.

The New York Post says that over the weekend, the two finally came to an agreement to resolve their legal differences in order to avoid yet another horrible courtroom battle.

Said Cook, who is now married to new wife Suzanne Shaw, “I feel great about the settlement. We got everything we had hopes for.”

Luckily for the children’s sake, the sparring exes will have a sort of middleman, or as they call it a “parental coordinator” appointed to them who will help them with the childcare. I’m guessing for organizing their visitation times and such.

Calling the latest lawsuit against his client “meritless”, Cook’s lawyer Jim Winkley said in a statement, “Peter Cook has been completely vindicated. In addition to receiving financial compensation for having to address Ms. Brinkley’s frivolous lawsuit against him, Mr. Cook has also secured a parenting coordinator, something he has sought, and Ms. Brinkley has refused, for 4 years. Ms. Brinkley is now mandated to co-parent directly with Mr. Cook and she will be monitored.”

The statement continued, “The settlement we reached proves Ms. Brinkley’s claims were baseless and that a hearing would have only proved to be a further embarrassment for her.”

Cook (through his lawyer) wasn’t the only one to get some jabs in. Doing what she knows best, Brinkley blasted Cook, but rather through a lawyer or spokesperson, she took to her Facebook page to say, “Let it be known, that I “moved on” from my marriage to Peter Cook the moment a police offer tapped me on the shoulder and informed me that ‘my husband had been cheating on me in a two year affair with his 17 year-old-daughter.’”

She added, “Since that moment, it has been an odyssey of frustration as I have navigated the court system with one goal to find peace and protection for my family from the various forms of abuse at the hands of a narcissist.”

Gah, will these two ever grow up?
