Andy Griffith Has Died

Actor Andy Griffith has died at his home in Roanoke, North Carolina, his longtime friend Bill Friday confirmed. Griffith died at approximately 7:00 AM Tuesday morning. He was 86.

Andy was best known for his role in The Andy Griffith Show and went on to have success with its spin-off, Matlock. One of his lifelong best friends was Don Knotts, who also starred on The Andy Griffith Show. The two were the best of friends until Knotts’ death in 2006.

With Andy Griffith dies part of America’s innocence. He represented a different time and era, one which seems to have been forgotten.
