Angelina Jolie Once Left Mick Jagger ‘Sobbing’

Angelina Jolie’s effect on men (and women) knows no bounds. Her appeal has even left one of rock n’ roll’s most legendary ladies men, Mick Jagger, “virtually sobbing”, so says a new tell-all.

In his new book, Christopher Anderson says that the Rolling Stones singer became smitten with Jolie back when she appeared in one of his band’s music videos as a stripper back in 1997.

At the time, Jolie was married to Jonny Lee Miller and had allegedly had an affair with her Playing God co-star Timothy Hutton, but that wasn’t about to stop Jagger from trying to pursue her. By the way, Jagger was still married to Jerry Hall at this time, but their marriage ended in 1999.

According to Radar, it was Jolie’s own mother Marcheline Bertrand who encouraged the rocker to go out with her daughter. According to one of Bertrand’s friends, Lauren Taines, she “loved Mick for Angie… and felt that he could teach her about fame.”

An excerpt of MICK: The Wild Life and Mad Genius of Jagger reveals that Jagger was obsessed with Jolie and loved her wild side but admitted “She scares me a little. I like that.” The book also states that at that time, Jolie “used hard drugs, had a fondness for S&M and was a self-confessed cutter.”

According to the book, Jagger pursued Jolie for years and the fact that she would never respond to his (sometimes desperate) phone call messages, made him even want her more.

Taines said at the time, she was astonished at how Jolie was “messing with Mick’s head” and said he was “virtually sobbing” on the phone begging to spend time with her. Apparently he even tried to buy her love, dropping $5,000 on a pair of earrings for the starlet. The book points out at this stage, Jolie was juggling relationships with Nicolas Cage, Russell Crowe and future husband Billy Bob Thornton, Geez…somebody was a busy girl!

Well, everything happens for a reason, and it seems like Jolie is in a good place with her fiancé Brad Pitt, who seem like they’re going to marry any day now, but what a cool couple Jolie and Jagger would have made! If they married and tagged Mick’s last name onto hers she would be Angelina Jolie-Jagger. Radness!
