Katie Holmes, Tom Cruise Quickly Reach Divorce Settlement

So, I predicted the divorce between Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise was going to get ugly, and I think it has, but it looks like we’ll never know because the two have already reached a divorce settlement; one which will reportedly remain strictly confidential.

According to People, Holmes’ lawyer has warned the public to not believe everything they’ve read about the divorce settlement between his client and Cruise. Says attorney Jonathan Wolfe, “There are numerous inaccuracies in the reports regarding the purported contents of the agreement reached between the parties. The agreement is confidential and its terms will not be disclosed.”

It has only been a week and a half since Holmes filed for divorce from Cruise, which leads me to believe that Cruise was very generous in giving Holmes pretty much anything she asked for in the settlement (custody of Suri, money, etc.) in exchange for a zipped mouth. The last thing he wanted was for this fight to go public, which could have possibly exposed some things about him he’d rather not have anyone know. Just a guess.

This is great news for Suri though. No kids should have to see their parents involved in nasty court battles. Divorce is hard enough on them.
