Tommy Lee has gotten some slack recently for taking to his Face book page to ask fans to quit requesting pictures with him every time he steps outside, but it looks like he has a good reason. Lee claims that one ballsy fan asked him for a picture once when he was carrying his recently deceased mother’s ashes.
The rocker chatted with FUSE about the incident. He began, “Are you ready for this? This is going to f**king freak you out.” Then continued, “My mother passed away recently. I was picking up her ashes to take them home with me to do a service for my mother. And so I’m at the mortuary, I’ve got my mom’s ashes in my right hand, and my girlfriend, I’m holding her hand with my left hand, and we’re walking out. And the f**king lady, the receptionist, goes, ‘Oh my god, can I take a picture with you?’ And I looked at her and went [takes a deep breath], ‘I’m sorry, but I’d rather not.’”
He goes on to say, “I sat in the car, and I’m shaking, and my girlfriend goes, ‘I’m so sorry honey,’ and I was speechless. I didn’t even know what to say. I couldn’t believe a human being just did that.”
WTF? What a piece of trash that person was! There is clearly a time and a place for everything, and asking a rockstar for a picture when they’re in a mortuary and obviously hurting is disgusting. She’s lucky he didn’t get her fired.
As for asking for photos…well, guilty as charged! Back in 2006, I asked for a photo with Tommy when I spotted him in the VIP section of a NIN concert. Lucky for me, he was totally polite about it.
Sorry about your loss Tommy! Our love and thoughts are with you man.
