Steven Tyler has announced that he is quitting his judging gig on American Idol after just two seasons.
Tyler said in a statement released by Fox, “After some long … hard … thoughts … I’ve decided it’s time for me to let go of my mistress American Idol before she boils my rabbit. I strayed from my first love, Aerosmith, and I’m back – but instead of begging on my hands and knees, I’ve got two fists in the air and I’m kicking the door open with my band.” He added, “Idol was over-the-top fun, and I loved every minute of it…Now it’s time to bring rock back.”
There have also been rumors floating around that fellow judges Jennifer Lopez, and longtime Idol judge Randy Jackson may not come back as well. I don’t think the rotating judge panel thing is helping the show any, and people seem to be growing tired of it all.
Honestly, I haven’t been into the contestants on the last few seasons for some reason, or maybe I’m just growing bored of the show as a whole, but the only reason I have continued to half-ass watch the show is because of Tyler. So yeah, I probably am done with the show for good too.
