Mötley Crüe Releases And Gives Away ‘Sex’ Single Free

Motley Crue release "Sex" single and give it away free for 24 hours 2012

You might have just hours, but if you visit Mötley Crüe’s website right now, you download their new single “Sex” for free.

The four-minute, fist-pounding track is full of rockin’ guitar riffs, and kick-ass drum beats and features frontman Vince Neil singing some simple and choice lyrics like, “Don’t need no love or no respect because it’s all about the sex.” The song is the first studio track from the band since their 2008 release of Saints Of Los Angeles.

Speaking about the new album, the group’s bassist and lead songwriter Nikki Sixx, told VH1 Radio Network’s Dave Basner back in March, ‘It sounds very much like it’s off of the first record. And that was definitely on purpose. I’ve been writing very simple riffs for the last year and focusing on how these riffs would work for Vince, basically, and took it in the studio with Tommy [Lee] and Mick [Mars] and the thing just came alive.”

Drummer Tommy Lee added his own view on what “Sex” sounds like to him, telling Noisecreep (via UltimateClassicRock.com), “I think Nikki is partially right. It’s got a retro Crue kind of vibe to it — a simplistic riff. But I also think the song has a modern sound to it. There’s some cool analog synths in it and a beat that is really funky and modern. Overall, I think that ‘Sex’ sounds like 2012 and that makes me really happy.”

“At the end of the day, it’s a great summertime song that’s going to have everybody screaming along to it on this upcoming tour,” he adds.

This tour Lee’s speaking about kicks off in just a few days with fellow rockers KISS. Check out the band’s website for more details on tour dates and ticket info.

The band is giving away “Sex” free for just 24 hours, so go get yours now!

UPDATE: As of Tuesday morning, the band is no longer giving away the single, but you can now buy it on iTunes!
