Garbage Frontwoman Shirley Manson Receives Online Death Threats, Police Involved

For the most part, it’s been a great year for Garbage and its members, what with the successful release of their first album in seven years, Not Your Kind Of People, and the fun and excitement they’ve been experiencing while on a world tour to promote it, but unfortunately lead singer Shirley Manson has had to deal with a darker side of fame…psycho fans!

It just so happens that the gorgeous red-head has been getting a slew of abusive messages sent her way from a Twitter user named @Gunn2urhead. In a little over a month, the anonymous twitter user posted over 700 messages to the band and its members, in which they curse Manson for being a “telepathic witch” and even accuse her of cheating on her husband. It’s a long run of crazy and it took me a long time to scroll down the mess but it’s there and it’s definitely threatening. Oh yeah, the timeline is also peppered with several death threats.

According to The Daily Beast (via MTV), Manson’s manager Paul Kremen, contacted the LAPD to report the cyberstalking, and since then, they’ve issued a search warrant to Twitter in an attempt to gather information about this person’s account.

The warrant reads, “[Manson] stated that she is in great fear for her and her family’s safety due to the nature of the threats, the sheer volume of them and the ‘crazy’ sounding messages being posted towards her. She stated she has never had anything like this on this level occur to her and she is very frightened and wants the threats to be investigated fully.”

Reading through the tweets, you can clearly see that the person is unstable. Either naturally or chemically enhanced, if you know what I mean. Yikes!
