Has Robert Pattinson Been Drunk Dialing Kristen Stewart?

The last couple weeks must have been the toughest days Robert Pattinson has experienced in the last several years, and it seems he’s using the tried-and-true method of booze therapy to help him cope with the pain.

According to Pattinson’s buddies, he’s been hitting the bottle pretty hard ever since he found out his girlfriend Kristen Stewart had an affair with director Rupert Sanders.

Insiders spoke to In Touch (via Gawker) about the situation saying, “He’s been drinking like crazy,” adding, “He’s been drunk dialing Kristen.”

The sources told the magazine that Pattinson had initially been ignoring Stewart’s phone calls and texts after news of the scandal broke, but is now initiating a dialogue with her.

Says one source, “Rob had been avoiding her calls, but now they’re talking … well, they’re barely talking. There’s a lot of dead silence on the phone because there’s not a lot to talk about.”

Whether or not they’re going to get back together, they might as well talk things through and at least become friends again because if they don’t, their upcoming appearances for the MTV VMAs and Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 press are going to be mighty uncomfortable.

As of right now, Pattinson has two televised appearances scheduled for next week; he’ll be stopping by the Daily Show Monday and on Wednesday, he’ll be appearing on Good Morning America.

Stewart on the other hand, is not eager to make her public reappearance. It was just announced that she has dropped out of starring in the upcoming movie Cali. As of now, Amber Heard will be taking her place. She’s also pulled out of the On The Road premiere, which is scheduled for August 16.

She’s going to have to face the public sooner or later. I think it’d be better for her to just own her mistakes, learn from them, and keep her head up. Hopefully she’ll be able to do that.
