Mariah Carey Pissed Nicki Minaj Might Be on ‘Idol’

Sources connected to American Idol are saying that Mariah Carey is one pissed off diva after learning that she might be sharing the spotlight with much younger pop star Nicki Minaj.

TMZ is reporting that Mariah actually hung up on producers when she was told Minaj was the frontrunner to join her on the singing competition reality show. Mariah allegedly wanted to be the only female judge and the fact that she is 13-years older than Nicki isn’t settling well with her either.

Another concern producers apparently have is that the show will be “too black” with Mariah, Nicki and Randy (if he returns). This sounds completely asinine to me in this day and age and it’s sad that anyone would even notice it. Hell, I didn’t until I read that. To top it off, they also feel that having 2 female judges and 1 male judge might be a mistake. Because, apparently we are living in the stone age.

American Idol has seen better days and I think this show is simply going into a tailspin because they are scrambling to get another few seasons out of it. I say it’s time to pack it up and call it a day. It doesn’t matter if they land Mariah Carey OR Nicki Minaj, American Idol is on it’s last leg and I don’t think ANY diva can resurrect it.
