Nicki Minaj Is Now On Board To Judge ‘American Idol’

Reason #101 on why I will not watch the upcoming season of American Idol: Nicki Minajis joining the judging panel, alongside newly appointed co-judge Mariah Carey.

An insider told Us Weekly, “I’m not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it,” one insider reveals. “A few more slight things to sign off on but it is happening.”

Another source told the magazine that the 29-year-old rapper is “100% confirmed to judge American Idol.”

I miss Paula Abdul and sort of miss Simon Cowell. I did like Ellen DeGeneres and Steven Tyler, for the short time that they served as judges, but this panel is just not doing it for me. Randy Jackson (who is rumored to be moving into a mentoring sort of role) is okay, and so is Mariah, but “okay” will not get me to want to watch the show on a consistent basis. And with Minaj now joining, no thanks. I can’t really consider myself a fan. Also, I think overall, the show has gotten a bit tiresome. I’d much rather watch The Voice.
