Edward Furlong: Still A Mess, Claims He Was Robbed On Skid Row

Edward Furlong Says He Was Robbed On Skid Row

First off, if I didn’t know any better, I would have guessed the pic above was of Kevin Federline, not Edward Furlong…sigh.

Anyway, the last time we heard about Furlong he was getting sued by his ex-wife Rachael Kneeland (aka Rachael Bella) for being a deadbeat father who couldn’t pay child support for their young son Ethan, because Furlong claimed to be broke.

Well, things are still not looking up for the 35-year-old actor. Furlong reportedly was chilling in the drug-plagued streets of Los Angeles known as Skid Row, when he called over a police officer and told him he had been robbed.

According to Furlong, he simply asked a man for directions, when all of a sudden, the guy became aggressive and demanded his wallet. TMZ says Furlong tried to avoid conflict, so he gave in to the guy. Luckily, no weapons were involved and nobody was hurt.

The actor filed an incident report, to which an investigation is now underway.

Yeah, none of that looks suspicious, right? I don’t want to generalize, but everyone knows the population in Skid Row consists mostly of homeless people and junkies. What on earth was Furlong doing there, and why the hell does the guy not even own a GPS?!

Sadly, I was reminded what has been going on in Furlong’s life after refreshing my brain with Wikipedia. Just briefly look at the quick paragraphs under “Personal Life” and “Substance abuse and legal problems” and you’ll find your answers. Furlong is going deeper and deeper into that dark abyss of drugs and alcohol abuse so many child stars in Hollywood do.

This post is one of lament, really. Furlong broke out onto the acting scene with Terminator 2: Judgment Day being his first role. Can you believe it? He was only 13, and I, just a couple years younger than him, just crushed on him so hard. I thought he was sooo hot. Ha.

Through the years, I grew as a fan of his. His roles in Pet Sematary II, Pecker, and American History X I would consider some of my favorite movies.

Anyway, enough boo-hooing on my part, I just hope he gets the help he needs before his life ends too young. He is such a freaking talent; it would be a waste for him to give it up for a life (and death) devoted to drugs and booze. More importantly, he has a son to live for.
