Elisha Cuthbert Gets Engaged To Hockey Star Dion Phaneuf

It’s been announced that Elisha Cuthbert has said “yes” to becoming Dion Phaneuf’s future wife.

According to The National Post, the Toronto Maple Leafs’ 27-year-old captain popped the question to his beautiful 29-year-old actress girlfriend (who was born in Calgary) this weekend. The couple celebrated the exciting news at the New Glasgow Lobster Suppers restaurant in Prince Edward Island on Sunday night.

The restaurant made this post on their Facebook page: “Last night we hosted a private party for Toronto Maple Leaf’s Cptn Dion Phaneuf where he and Canadian actress Elisha Cuthbert announced their engagement! A nice surprise for all their guests! Congrats to them both and LOVE the ring!!!!”

“Elisha looked very happy and pleased. She was showing off her ring to her family and the wait staff. The female wait staff was gushing about the ring saying it was ‘quite impressive’ and ‘huge.’ At one point, Dion and Elisha both got up and gave a speech and thanked everyone for being there and celebrating this exciting time with them,” a source told UsWeekly.

Cuthbert, who is currently starring on the ABC television show Happy Endings as the character named Alex Kerkovich, began dating the hockey defenseman in 2008.
