Green Day Singer Billie Joe Armstrong Hospitalized

Singer Billie Joe Armstrong was rushed to the hospital over the weekend, though not much is known right now regarding why he was admitted and how he’s doing.

Per Green Day’s website, bassist Mike Dirnt explains (in a video) the band’s need to cancel their scheduled Sunday night performance in Bologna, Italy, “Billie got rushed to the hospital last night due to illness, and the doctors don’t think it’s a good idea for him to play today. This sucks. We were really, really looking forward to playing.”

Drummer Tre Cool adds, “We’re beyond devastated. We’re as sad as you guys are. Billie is extremely upset about it.”
