Randy Jackson Back as American Idol Judge

Forget the rumors about Enrique Iglesias joining to judging panel of American Idol Season 12, we’re now hearing that the fourth judge will be the only remaining original judge on the show, Randy Jackson.

It was speculated that Jackson would return to the show but in a mentorship sort of role instead of a judge. But it seems that idea has been quashed and Jackson will return for the show’s 12th season in January 2013.

Mariah Carey has signed on as an Idol judge and both Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban are said to be close to completing negotiations as well. I can’t wait to see how Mariah and Nicki get along. I hope not at all, because a Mimi/Nicki rivalry is pretty much the only thing that would make me want to watch an entire season of American Idol – something I have not done in years.
