Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong Talks Smack On Bon Jovi

Billie Joe Armstrong Says Bon Jovi Are The Worst Band They've Played With

Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong is on the road to health after getting a nasty bug a little over a week ago, and he’s back to talking smack; this time on Bon Jovi.

In an interview with Kerrang! magazine (via NME), Armstrong, 40, shares which band he had the most fun touring with and others that he wasn’t impressed by.

He tells the mag, “The best [band we've shared a stage with] is probably The Hives, they’re a great live band. [As for the worst] Oh boy, I have to go with Bon Jovi.”

Armstrong also says that the funniest rumor he’s heard about himself would be one that stated he had died.

He says, “I was in Los Angeles recording ‘American Idiot’, and I got a call from my wife freaking out. It was just internet stuff gone wild.”

That’s too bad about Bon Jovi. I like both bands, and although I’ve never caught a Green Day show live, I have seen Bon Jovi and they rock. Sure, I don’t think Jon Bon Jovi is one of the strongest live singers, but it’s Bon Jovi, and they do know how to put on a show. They own that crowd’s energy, and that’s what’s important.
