Ben Affleck: Dating Jennifer Lopez, Making ‘Gigli’ Was Bad For My Career

Ben Affleck has opened up to Details magazine for their October issue and in it, he reveals that his life’s low point was when he dated Jennifer Lopez, and starred alongside her in the bomb movie Gigli.

Regarding the time he spent with J. Lo, the actor/director said, “If you were looking at that one-liner on me in 2003, which was definitely the annus horribilis [laughs] of my life.”

“I got shorthanded as That Guy: Jennifer Lopez, movies bombed, therefore he must be a sort of thoughtless dilettante, solipsistic consumer blahblahblah.”

Isn’t it amazing how time can change everything? I remember those days of “Bennifer” (wasn’t that the beginning of mixing celeb couple’s names together?) like they were yesterday. They seemed so in love, and I’m sure at the time they were. I also remember getting real sick of seeing the two of them all the time. I’m much more of a fan of Ben and Jennifer Garner together. I hope they last.
