Fiona Apple Carries Hashish, Gets Arrested In Texas

You know the saying “Don’t mess with Texas”? Yeah don’t do it…especially if you’re carrying around illegal drugs.

Too bad for Fiona Apple that fellow music stars Snoop Dogg (or Snoop Lion) and Willie Nelson didn’t let you in on that little secret. Otherwise, it might have saved her from Wednesday’s arrest.

The 35-year-old singer was arrested Wednesday at a Texas border stop when hashish, or a stronger form of marijuana was found on her tour bus during a routine check, along with a small amount of the normal stuff. The cops apparently took possession of somewhere around .01 pounds of each drug that they found in a backpack on the vehicle.

After “freely admitting” the drugs were hers, Apple was arrested on the spot and taken into Hudspeth County Jail, where she took that magnificent mug shot you see above. (I didn’t know you could take a mug shot with your eyes closed!) She stayed the night there and was released Thursday morning on a $10,000 bond.

Moral of the story, if you’re carrying illegal drugs while touring, smoke that shiz up before crossing over Texas’ border!
