Green Day Singer Bilie Joe Armstrong Checks Into Rehab

Some fans of Green Day were shocked this weekend when singer Billie Joe Armstrong made headlines for going on an erratic, nasty rant during his band’s iHeart Radio set this weekend, but we’re learning now the outburst was most likely chemically-induced.

During the Clear Channel-hosted concert festival, held this year in Las Vegas, Armstrong flipped out when his band was told to wrap it up one minute earlier than planned.

This is what the crowd was verbally assaulted with before Armstrong smashed his guitar and flipped them off: “You’re gonna give me one minute? I’ve been around since f**king nineteen eighty f**king eight, and you’re gonna give me one minute? You’ve gotta be f**king kidding me. I’m not f**king Justin Bieber, you motherf**kers. Let me show you what one f**king minute means.”

The band’s rep came out with a statement today saying, “Green day wants to apologize to those they offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas”, adding, “The band regretfully must postpone some of their upcoming promotional appearances.“

This is interesting because if you recall, the band ended up canceling a concert in Italy a couple weeks ago because Armstrong allegedly had the flu and was suffering from dehydration. Apparently he was taken to the hospital. This definitely could have happened, but after this news, it makes you think. Was he possibly treated for alcohol poisoning or an overdose of some kind? It’s hard to say.
