I have a few girl crushes, but Christina Hendricks is probably my #1.
She’s gorgeous with her beautiful glowing skin, ginger-colored hair (I’ve read that she’s naturally a blonde), and her curves and body are to-die-for, at least in my opinion. She really brings to mind that ‘old Hollywood’ siren feel, you know?
The foxy Mad Men star was recently interviewed by the Sun-Herald fashion editor Kate Waterhouse, and at one point in the conversation, things got a little uncomfortable. Apparently, Hendricks would rather not be labeled a ‘full-figured’ gal.
Here’s how the awkward dialogue went:
Waterhouse: “You have been an inspiration as a full-figured woman. What is the most inspiring story that you can remember where you’ve inspired someone?”
Hendricks: (awkwardly giggles) “Um, I don’t know…I’m sorry,” before looking to her publicist (possibly?) who then asks Waterhouse to rephrase the question.
Waterhouse: (obviously not getting it) “You’ve been known as an inspiration for women as being a full-figured..”
Hendricks: (cuts her off) “I mean, you just said it again.”
In the end, the question was taken out of the interview, but Hendricks was reportedly heard backstage saying, “I think calling me full-figured is just rude.”
I don’t necessarily think the term ‘full-figured’ is an insult, though I do think the way the interviewer phrased her question came off a little rude, and really I think the question was unnecessary and kind of lame. I think Hendricks handled it well.
You can see the awkwardness below!
