Taylor Swift doesn’t come off as a hardcore party machine with an endless appetite for alcohol, so it’s no surprise to hear her admit she’s not much of a drinker.
The 22-year-old country pop tart was interviewed by Esquire and during the conversation, she admitted she doesn’t “drink much alcohol”. She says, “If it doesn’t taste like candy or sparkles, I usually don’t drink it.”
Swift also spoke about her new album Red, which she swears is more than just a compilation of breakup songs. She says, “This is breaking news, but there are a few happy songs on this album. I do explore the emotion every once in a while. I’d like to think you don’t stop being creative once you get happy. My ultimate goal is to end up being happy. Most of the time.”
As for boyfriends or exes becoming part of her writing inspiration (like exes Joe Jonas, John Mayer, and Jake Gyllenhaal were rumored to be), Swift says, “If [boyfriends] stick around, then great,” adding, “They’re kind of like signing a release form.”
Watch out Conor Kennedy, you next!
Back to the booze… candy and sparkles? That was me at age NEVER. Hopefully I don’t come off as a total lush, but seriously, when I was 22 I had just discovered the beautiful spirit known as bourbon, and for a while all I drank when going out were bourbon-based drinks. A bourbon press, an old-fashioned…yes please!
