Rapper Nelly Detained For Bus Holding Heroin, Loaded Gun

When are musicians going to grab a clue from fellow musicians and dump or ingest their illegal drugs before crossing Texas borders?

Rapper Nelly is the most recent celebrity to get in a run-in with Texas border police. The 37-year-old (born Cornell Iral Haynes, Jr.) was detained by Texas police Wednesday night after they found heroin (.64 oz.), a loaded gun (.45 caliber), and a ton of weed (10 lbs.!) on his tour bus.

Apparently, Nelly’s bus was raided by border patrol agents at a checkpoint in Sierra Blanca after a police dog detected drugs on the vehicle. By the way, this is the same exact checkpoint other musicians have been stopped and busted at, including Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg (ugh Lion), and more recently, Fiona Apple.

Other than Nelly, there were six other passengers on the bus, including a man named Brian Keith Jones, who admitted to police that the drugs and gun were his. Jones was the only person placed under arrest.

After the incident, Nelly spoke to TMZ about it all and according to him, he had not idea any of that illegal stuff was on his bus. He said, “It is my understanding a member of my staff made an unfortunate decision to bring unlawful materials onto our tour bus that resulted in his arrest this morning. Neither I nor anyone else on the tour bus was aware of his decision to bring these on board. Law enforcement officials did not press charges against anyone other than that individual.”

Good thing for Nelly his buddy fessed up, but how on Earth do you not know that someone is holding onto ten FREAKING pounds of pot, on your bus?!
