Recently we learned that Hulk Hogan had a sex tape out there that I’m pretty sure nobody wants to see. Though he confirmed the tape’s existence, the Hulk swore he had no clue who filmed the raunchy tape, even though all signs pointed to his friend (and then-husband of the film’s female ‘star’ Heather Clem), radio DJ ‘Bubba the Love Sponge’.
It looks like the wrestling legend might have finally come to his senses, because not only is he going after the website Gawker, which posted an excerpt of the video (even after Hogan’s lawyers sent them a cease and desist letter asking them to remove it), but he’s also going after his former best buddy Bubba.
According to E!, Hogan (birth name: Terry Gene Bollea) is suing Bubba and his ex-wife Heather for “invasion of privacy, public disclosure of private facts, intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress and violation of the Florida statute prohibiting the taping of another person without their knowledge.”
As for his lawsuit against Gawker, Hogan is asking for $100 million in monetary damages, along with punitive damages, and a temporary restraining order. He’s also asking that Gawker Media permanently remove all content of the movie from their websites.
Even though this whole situation is just really gross, and was definitely a low point for Hogan (which he admitted himself), I’m glad he’s going after Bubba. It’s sad to think that somebody would do something like this to someone they call their ‘best friend’. What a low-life!
