Magic Johnson Sued: Forced Employee To Squeeze Red Vines

It seems like people are getting sued for anything and everything these days and honestly, it’s getting out of control.

Just ask Magic Johnson.

The basketball legend is reportedly being sued by a former employee for wrongful termination, which is not out of the ordinary in itself, but the claims made in the suit are downright ridiculous (and funny as hell).

According to TMZ, Lanita Thomas, 45, says she was Magic’s personal flight attendant on his private plane for eight years (2004-2012) until she was fired last month.

In her lawsuit, the bitter ex-employee says the reason she was given for her termination (Magic says she was 15 minutes late for work one day) is totally bogus and insists she knows the real reason behind it all. She says it came down to Magic wanting a “substantially younger woman” to cater to his flying needs.

Though the former employee admits she was indeed 15 minutes late one day to work, she reveals in the suit it’s only because her ex-boss is very particular with his lunch meat requests; Magic only likes two specific types of turkey meats on his sandwiches and because of this she was stuck at the deli longer than she should have been.

Not only that, Lanita says Magic was “very particular that all snacks were fresh”. Apparently he used to force her to “regularly squeeze his red vines to make sure they were soft.”

Along with claiming wrongful termination, Lanita also states that Magic neglected to pay her for overtime hours and she says wasn’t given any breaks during her work shifts. For this she’s looking for unspecified damages.
