Tom Hanks Gives Good ‘Full House’ Poetry Reading With Jimmy Fallon

Tom Hanks Reading Poetry On Jimmy Fallon Show

Tom Hanks is a poet, and a damn funny one. On Tuesday night he appeared on the Late Night With Jimmy Fallon where he performed a slam poem about the 90s classic TV sitcom Full House.

Appearing to channel his inner beatnik, Hanks wears all black clothing and gives a dramatic poem reading under a bright spotlight.

With gems like, “Uncle Jesse whose hair is never messy, watch the hair, huh? Have mercy on Uncle Jesse”, and “DJ Tanner, ‘Oh Mylanta!’ Stephanie, ‘How rude!’ Little Michelle, ‘You got it dude’”, we’ve got a winner.

Could this possibly be the Academy Award winner’s way of getting himself ready for his Broadway debut? Hanks is set to appear on Broadway this coming spring in a play called Lucky Guy, produced by the late Nora Ephron.

According to a press release, the play will be “a return to Ephron’s journalistic roots in a new play about the scandal- and graffiti-ridden New York of the 1980s, as told through the story of the charismatic and controversial tabloid columnist Mike McAlary.”

Hanks will be playing the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist McAlary, who worked at the New York Daily News for 12 years, covering crime and police corruption.

I think Hanks will rock this, like he does everything else.

Anyhoodle, go ahead and watch the clip below, only if you’re in the mood for laughing.
