Christina Aguilera Wants To Play A ‘Crackhead’

Christina Aguilera is not satisfied with dominating the pop world and selling over 50 million of her soul singing albums, girlfriend wants to dominate the movie industry too!

The 31-year-old singer, who made her feature film debut in 2010’s Burlesque (along with a couple other film cameos and several television appearances), said at the Billboard and Hollywood Reporter 2012 Film & TV Music conference Thursday, “I do want to do more acting, I want to do something where I can really sink my teeth into something a little more challenging. Really outside of myself, outside of music.”

Before her Burlesque performance opposite music icon Cher, she saw something a little different. She recalls thinking, “I sort of had this personal aspiration to do film, but I said, ‘I never want to do a musical! It’s too much like myself.”

For future roles Aguilera is thinking something a little more raw: “I want it to be honest and genuine in expanding my wings and doing something really, really different. A crackhead on the street or a drug addict. Or something crazy and meaty and juicy. Something that really took me out of myself.”

She goes on further, “It’s hard being such a powerful woman in the business. I’m known for not always being, kind of…I learned early on you can’t always be warm and fuzzy because you’ll be bulldozed right over.”

I’m sure there are plenty of nice ‘crackheads’ out there, and if there aren’t, don’t be afraid to be different Xtina!
