Gene Hackman Slaps Homeless Man For Calling His Wife Derogatory Name

Gene Hackman doesn’t mess around with knuckleheads who choose to offend his wife by calling her a derogatory name; no dude will slap your ass.

That’s exactly what a homeless man was met with when he called the 82-year-old actor’s wife Betsy a c-word Tuesday afternoon.

According to Santa Fe police Sgt. Andrea Dobyns, the foul-mouthed fellow called 911 around 1:30 p.m. to report that Hackman had beaten him up.

When officers arrived the actor told them the man had aggressively approached him and his wife before calling her a “c*nt”. Hackman says at that point he was worried for their safety. When the homeless man got in his face, Hackman says he hit him but it was “more like a slap than a punch.”

No visible injuries were seen on the man and nobody was arrested or cited. Says Dobyns about the incident, “It looked like Mr. Hackman did this purely out of self-defense to protect himself and his wife.”

Even at 82, the man is his wife’s knight in shining armor. Romántico!
