Scarlett Johansson Is Ready To Film Her ‘Psycho’ Shower Scene For ‘Hitchcock’

After seeing the first photos of Scarlet Johansson dolled up in character as Janet Leigh for the upcoming film Hitchcock, I could tell she was fairly comfortable in the role.

The 27-year-old actress is apparently so comfortable that she had absolutely no reservations when it came to filming the iconic shower scene from Psycho. She tells V magazine, “We only had the luxury to shoot the scene for a day, and everybody was feeling very nervous because it involved water and nobody wants the actor to get wet. They were concerned with modesty and all these things – but I don’t care about any of that stuff and Janet Leigh never did either.”

She adds, “You have got to be brave, get into the shower, and face Anthony Hopkins as Hitchcock jabbing you in the face with a 12-inch kitchen knife. As much as Anthony Hopkins is a pussycat, he’s terrifying. Maybe I watched Silence of the Lambs too many times when I was a kid. Maybe I was having some flashbacks. So I didn’t need too much preparation for the scene.”

Co-starring alongside Johansson as Janet Leigh and Hopkins as Alfred Hitchcock, is Toni Collette, James D’Arcy, Jessica Biel, Ralph Macchio and Helen Mirren as the director’s wife, Alma Reville.

I can’t wait until this movie hits theaters. It’s giving me some major Oscar vibes!
