Courtney Love has been busy lately working on a documentary about her late husband, Kurt Cobain, who died in 1994 from a self-inflicted gunshot to the head.
According to reports, the 48-year-old rocker is working with filmmaker Brett Morgen, who is known for directing The Rolling Stones documentary Crossfire Hurricane. So far it looks like film will be released some time in 2014.
Morgen told the NY Post recently that he and Love have been planning this since 2007. He said: “Courtney is the one that brought me into this. We’ve been trying to find the right time to put this film together and the time is now… Kurt was not only an amazing songwriter and musician, he was an incredible artist and filmmaker. So we are going to do the movie sort of like a third-person autobiography — [as] if Kurt was around and making a film about his life.”
I’m way more into the idea of this film than I am about the Smells Like Teen Spirit sitcom we heard was in the works, that’s for sure. I just hope Love stays true to Cobain and his life, rather than skew it for reasons of her own.
