It’s been nearly six years since Anna Nicole Smith died and I have to admit, I miss her. Even though her life was a crazy circus, especially in her later years, she stunned us with her beauty as the fresh faced GUESS girl of the 1990s.
Born Vickie Lynn Hogan, Anna came onto the scene in March 1992 after she landed a cover on Hugh Hefner’s Playboy magazine. At that time she still went by her given name, but in 1993 when she was dubbed the Playmate of the Year she had changed her name to Anna Nicole Smith. It was that same year when she became the new GUESS girl, replacing Claudia Schiffer. GUESS loved Schiffer for her resemblance to Brigitte Bardot, and also loved Smith’s resemblance to Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield. Both ladies were shot in black & white photographs for the GUESS campaigns which had a sexy, retro flair.
I heard Anna Nicole Smith’s daughter Danniellynn is now a GUESS model as well. At the age of 6, she is already working in front of the cameras. Not sure how I feel about this… Okay, actually, I hate the idea. It’s creepy to think she could be following in her mother’s footsteps, especially at such a young age. It also makes me suspicious of Larry Birkhead and whether he is using her as a little cash cow.
Anna Nicole Smith’s 45th birthday would have been Wednesday (November 28). Enjoy these gorgeous photos of her in her prime.
