End of the World Party 2012: Top 12 Songs for Your Playlist

Yes, the end of the world is upon us, if you believe the Mayans whose calendar runs out on December 21, 2012. Oh, and it just so happens to be a Friday, so it’s the perfect night to throw an End of the World Party!

No party is complete without music and a mind blowing playlist for the night is a must. Especially when it’s your last night! Ever! So make it count. If I were throwing an End of the World Party, and I still might, these would be my top choices. Of course I’d also throw in some smart ass songs like “Tomorrow” from the Annie soundtrack, which would be great for a laugh.

On my list, there is no Prince’s “1999,” Nena’s “99 Red Balloons” or R.E.M.’s “End of the World as We Know It,”  I mean, those are GIVENS. Of course you’re going to play them at the party. You don’t need me to tell you that. Besides, that would make my list like every other apocalyptic song list on the internet, and how boring is THAT?

It’s dark, it’s loud and it’s Sabbath. Nothing says apocalyptic meltdown like War Pigs.

The perfect anthem to live out your final moments to.

Not exactly about the end of the world, but the lyrics, “Do you want to die?” will make you question your mortality.

An oldie but a goodie, this one is still pretty eerie. The Grim Reaper is never a welcomed party guest.
