Model Lauren Scruggs Recalls Being ‘Fearful’ Prior To Her Horrible Plane Accident

Just a year ago model/fashion blogger Lauren Scruggs lost her left hand and eye in a tragic accident that involved her being struck by a planes’ moving propeller, but that day seems just like yesterday. Looking back on the horrid event, Scruggs says she had a feeling beforehand that something bad was going to happen.

The 24-year-old spoke with Giuliana Rancic about the odd premonition she experienced that day. This is how she explained it: “I didn’t know why, because I don’t usually have fear like that. I just remember being in it and kind of grabbing on to the side of the seat and praying.  I just remember getting off of the plane and my feet touching the ground, and that’s all I remember.”

Scruggs says she can’t remember getting struck by the planes’ propeller, but her mom Cheryl was unfortunately a witness to it, and she remembers everything.

Says Cheryl: “I ran outside and I could see Lauren lying face-down on the ground. She wasn’t moving, she was lying in a pool of blood—I mean, it was all around her. All I had at that moment was God.”

“As I started praying for her she started to make some sounds that I had never heard out of a human being. But that was a blessing because I realized she was alive.”

Scruggs says she remembers waking up two weeks later in a hospital bed asking why she was there. She says her twin sister Brittany was the one that told her.

What’s freaky is that Brittany apparently had the scary premonition too, but hers was more intense.

The model explains: “Before the accident, she felt that I was going to die. She didn’t tell me that because that would freak me out. And then the accident happened.”

Apparently, when Scruggs was undergoing surgery to save her eye, it was Brittany who was feeling it most, physically. Scruggs says her sister’s eye “was twitching every couple of seconds for two weeks.”

She adds: “She’s always been kind of my protector, she’d come from work and just sit with me…and I would feel that everything was OK.”

Wow, that’s intense. I’ve always been intrigued by twins (my mom is a twin, fraternal) and the bond both physically and mentally that you hear twins have. It’s trippy. Either way it’s great to see Scruggs on the path to recovery. She’s looking great and her spirits seem to be high.
