She might be divorced from one of Hollywood’s hottest actors (though he’s now happily married for the second time around), but marriage just never enters Scarlett Johansson’s mind. Ask her, she’ll tell you.
Well, she did tell Elle UK (via People) all about her thoughts, or lack thereof for the formal union that is supposed to bond people together for life.
In an interview for the magazine’s February issue, the newly turned 28-year-old says this about holy matrimony: “It’s really not important to me. The only time I ever think about it is when people ask me, ‘Would I get married again?’ ”
“I’m not having kids any time soon. I’m in a nice relationship, I’m working a lot and, like I said, it’s not important to me,” she adds.
Johansson is reportedly dating Romain Dauriac, a 30-year-old French journalist.
Apparently she chose to not date an actor again because according to her, it’s “monotonous” to do so. She does admit though, that she likes her men creative.
She says, “For me, most importantly, I look for a partner who is creative. I like people that have a colorful way of looking at things, that are inspiring and like art, music and film.”
Why did she then go and get married to actor Ryan Reynolds back in 2008? She says this: “I got married when I was young and it was incredibly romantic and I liked being married, actually. But it is different. It’s hard to put into words.”
Adds the actress, “To me, being in a functioning relationship doesn’t mean you have to be married.”
Of course I agree with her last statement, but I don’t see being against the union of marriage. If you find somebody you think you’d like to live the rest of your life with then why not? But marriage is a very personal issue and to each his/her own, right? Having said that, I do think she’ll get married again. I’d bet on it.
