‘Hangover’ Director Todd Phillips Wins Restraining Order Against Crazed Stalker

Ever since Todd Phillips had a one-night stand with (now) 22-year-old Juliana Shiao almost two years ago, things have gotten weird, like really weird and scary. Things have gotten so bad that the 42-year-old Hangover director has been awarded a restraining order against her.

Phillips filed court documents Monday and according to them, this woman has been harassing him via text, voicemail and even in person. All of this has caused him “great anxiety” for obvious reasons, and he says that he has been worried about his safety as well as the well being of his girlfriend who lives with him.

Shiao allegedly began texting the director a few months after the two met and had a brief fling sometime in early 2011. The court papers’ polite way of putting it is that the two had a “one night relationship” that “did not progress after that night.”

Things really started to take a turn for the worse in August 2012 when Shiao began leaving Phillips texts and voicemails that became “increasingly aggressive and threatening”. He says the sometimes “hundreds of texts” would include “lurid fantasies” involving him, as well as “threats about stalking” as well as warnings she would “make contact with [him] and enter [his property].

On November 24th, 2012, the stalker arrived at Phillips’ home around 10 p.m., banging on the gate and asking to be let in, and on January 3rd, he arrived home from a long-distance trip just to find signs that his house was broken into. He says that Shiao showed up at his house that same night “completely out of control.” Cops were called and she was arrested.

As of now, the woman is ordered to stay 100 yards away from Phillips. His girlfriend, Alexandra Kravetz, has been told to file for a separate restraining order. Good thing since Shiao reportedly already vandalized her car and made threats against her via text.
